Apps

Apps are bundled collections of Skuid resources . Apps create a cohesive experience based on end users and their use cases. Apps allow users to navigate associated Skuid pages based on logical URL paths.

For more information, see the Apps topic.

Pages

This screen lists pages you have created in Skuid. You can also click Create to make a new page. Be sure to assign a specific URL slug to the page; this will be combined with the app’s URL slug.

Note

If you create a page from the Pages tab, it will not be associated with an app. To connect it to an app, navigate to Apps and click the app to open the App detail screen, which lists all associated pages. Then click the down arrow next to Create Page and select Add Existing Page.

Warning

If you click New Page, you will not be able to use a page template until you set up a data source, since Skuid NLX has no built-in data to reference.

Design Systems

Click on a theme in the list to open it and edit it using the Theme Composer (for API version 1 pages) or the Design System Studio (for pages created in API version 2). Themes are stored as files within the Skuid site.

Click Create to make a new Theme (for v1 pages) or Design System (for v2 pages).

Data Sources

Skuid NLX will have no data to access until you create a data source*. Data sources has three tabs:

  • Data Sources, which displays a list of current data sources.
  • Authentication providers, which lists current authentication providers.
  • Data Services, which displays a list of current data services.

In each screen, click Create to create a new item.

Settings

Settings allows you to manage end users and site permission sets, static content, site details, and security. It’s divided into the following sections:

People lets you:

  • add, delete, and manage Users.
  • create and configure Site permission sets.
  • keep current on subscriptions and usage in Subscriptions.
  • review the site’s Login History.

Extensions is where builders can:

  • upload and manage static resource Files (such as images, JavaScript, or CSS libraries) to be used within Skuid.

    Note

    • Skuid matches files insensitive to case. If you upload a file named file.txt and later upload File.txt—they are treated as the same file.
    • Files cannot be renamed once they are uploaded. If you need to rename a file, download that file, rename it on your local machine, and then reupload it.
  • view a list of installed Component Packs or import a new one.

Site Details is where you configure:

  • the Site Profile—basic settings for the site, name, and subdomain.
  • Locale—set the geographic location, timezone and language for the site.
  • Branding—customize the site with a logo and favicon.

Security lets builders:

  • manage Site Security, including

    • the Logon IP Whitelist, which restricts user logins to a set of permissioned IP addresses.
    • Session and Token Options which sets the session timeout for all users to 15 or 30 minutes, or 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours; enables Roaming Sessions; and sets the Expiration of password reset tokens.
    • Embedding Options establishes the base URL for sites that can embed or iframe the Skuid site into their pages.
  • add or manage security Certificates and settings needed for the site.

  • Enable SAML protocol for use with Single Sign-on authentication.
